Extreme Networks PD-9001GR-ENT is a single-port Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector designed to deliver both power and data over one Ethernet cable to compatible devices. Compliant with the IEEE 802.3at (PoE+) standard, this compact injector supplies up to 30 W to a powered device, allowing installation of access points, IP cameras, and VoIP phones where PoE-capable switches are not available. The unit supports standard Gigabit Ethernet data rates and is intended for straightforward retrofit or greenfield deployments that require a reliable single-source PoE feed.
The PD-9001GR-ENT provides a simple, space-efficient solution for adding PoE power to existing networks without replacing switches. Its compliance with IEEE 802.3at ensures compatibility with a broad range of PoE+ devices, while delivering sufficient power for most enterprise wireless access points, PTZ and fixed IP cameras, and business VoIP phones. Connect the injector’s data input port to a non-PoE switch or router using a Cat5e or Cat6 cable, then connect the PoE output port to the powered device with a standard Ethernet cable. Plug the injector into AC mains power per the manufacturer’s instructions. The injector will handshaking with the powered device using the 802.3at protocol and supply power up to the device’s negotiated class limit (maximum 30 W). No special configuration is required on most endpoints; ensure device power requirements do not exceed the injector’s output capability.
For reliable operation, use certified Cat5e or Cat6 cabling and keep cable runs within standard Ethernet distance limits. Verify the powered device’s PoE class and maximum power draw before deployment. Place the injector in a ventilated area and follow local electrical codes when connecting to AC power.
