Mechanical Air Vent FERRO O15M 1/2 with Adjustment Knob
Mechanical Air Vent FERRO O15M 1/2 with Adjustment Knob
Mechanical air vent FERRO O15M 1/2 with Adjustment Knob is a compact valve designed to remove trapped air from heating and plumbing systems. The device combines an automatic venting function with a manual adjustment knob that allows controlled release of air. Intended for installation on radiators, boiler circuits and closed hydronic systems, this vent supports stable circulation and helps reduce noise and corrosion caused by air pockets.
The FERRO O15M offers both automatic and manual venting in a single unit, enabling continuous removal of microbubbles as well as intentional manual purging when needed. Its 1/2-inch threaded connection ensures compatibility with standard fittings commonly used in residential and light commercial heating systems. The adjustment knob provides precise control over air release, while the compact construction allows installation in confined spaces and on different types of piping and radiator outlets.
Install the mechanical air vent on an accessible high point of the system or at radiator outlets according to system layout and manufacturer guidance. Ensure the connection is properly sealed and tightened to the recommended torque for 1/2-inch fittings. Under normal operation the vent will expel microbubbles automatically; if larger air pockets are present, open the adjustment knob slowly to release air until water flow is steady, then close the knob. Follow safety procedures: isolate the system and reduce pressure if necessary before performing maintenance.
Regularly check the vent for signs of leakage, blockage or corrosion and perform manual venting after system maintenance, bleeding or when unusual noise indicates trapped air. Use compatible sealing materials for threaded joints and avoid overtightening. Replace the vent if automatic operation becomes unreliable or if internal components show wear.
