Modeling clay Staedtler FIMO 8021 Red 454 g 1 pc
FIMO modeling clay 8021 in red is a pliable polymer clay supplied as a 454 g block for handcrafting and sculpture. The material is formulated to remain workable at room temperature, allowing shaping, blending and texturing with common craft tools. After curing in a conventional oven the clay hardens to a solid finish that keeps color intensity and surface detail, making it suitable for decorative objects, miniatures, jewelry components and repairs. The reversible softness before baking and the compatibility with other FIMO colors simplify color mixing and layered constructions.
The clay offers consistent plasticity for detailed modelling and smooth finishes, with reliable curing behaviour that produces a durable result. Its strong colour retention prevents noticeable fading during shaping and after heat curing. The 454 g size provides a larger working quantity for extended projects or multiple items, while the red hue blends predictably with other FIMO tones. The material is non-greasy, easy to condition by hand or with a pasta machine, and accepts surface finishing such as sanding, painting and varnishing after baking.
Condition the clay by warming and kneading until it becomes flexible and homogeneous. Shape the required forms using hands and modelling tools; for thin or complex parts, work in layers and blend colours as needed. Place items on a suitable ovenproof tray and follow the manufacturer’s temperature and time settings for heat curing; allow pieces to cool completely before handling. After curing, refine surfaces with fine sandpaper or files and apply paints or protective varnish when desired.
Use a dedicated oven thermometer and follow safe baking practices for polymer clays. Avoid contact with food utensils and surfaces used for food preparation. Store unused clay in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and airtight to prevent drying out. When mixing colours, test small samples to check the resulting hue before committing to a full piece.
