The Fiskars Pro PB-8 M Bypass pruning shears combine a bypass cutting mechanism with ergonomic handles to deliver clean cuts on live shoots and small branches. Designed for everyday garden maintenance, these secateurs measure 201 mm in length and weigh 186 g, offering a balance of control and lightness. The tool cuts branches up to 26 mm thick and features a durable plastic handle in Fiskars’ recognizable black and orange color scheme for reliable grip and visibility in the garden.

Advantages

The bypass cutting action ensures precise, low-damage cuts suitable for live plant tissue, helping to promote healthy regrowth. The compact 201 mm length and 186 g weight reduce fatigue during repetitive pruning tasks. The handle construction provides a secure grip and straightforward maintenance, while the shears’ cutting capacity up to 26 mm covers most common pruning needs for shrubs, roses and small fruit trees.

Suitable for

• Pruning live shoots, stems and small branches
• Maintaining roses, ornamental shrubs and hedges
• Trimming fruit tree shoots and training young plants
• General garden maintenance and seasonal pruning

Key specifications

• Total length: 201 mm
• Weight: 186 g
• Maximum cutting diameter: 26 mm

How to use

Hold the shears with a firm grip on the ergonomic handles and position the bypass blades around the live shoot or branch you want to remove. Make a single, steady cutting motion close to the bud or branch collar to minimise damage and encourage proper healing. For thicker stems near the maximum cutting diameter, apply controlled pressure and ensure blades are sharp and properly aligned before cutting.

Usage recommendations

Regularly clean and dry the blades after use to prevent sap buildup and corrosion. Sharpen and oil the cutting edges as needed and inspect the handle and blade alignment periodically to maintain safe operation. Use the shears within the stated cutting capacity to avoid damage to the tool and ensure long service life.
