Auger bit Fiskars QUIKDRILL Ø100 mm, length 1100 mm - model FS134710
Fiskars QUIKDRILL auger bit Ø100 mm with a total length of 1100 mm is a replacement drill head engineered for making clean, round holes in soil. Designed for planting, installing small posts or anchors and other ground-work, the auger features a hardened cutting edge and helical flighting that transport excavated soil efficiently out of the hole. The robust steel construction and straight-shank connection make this auger suitable for use with compatible auger drives and handheld powerheads used in garden and landscaping work.
The auger bit provides consistent 100 mm diameter holes with a long 1100 mm reach that reduces the need for multiple starts and stops when drilling deep planting holes. Its helical flighting and sharp cutting edge are shaped to cut through typical garden soils and move spoil upward, improving drilling speed and reducing clogging. The steel construction offers wear resistance for frequent outdoor use, and the standard straight shank enables quick replacement on many drive units.
Attach the auger bit securely to a compatible auger drive or powerhead according to the drive unit manufacturer’s instructions. Position the auger vertically over the intended drill point, start the drive at low speed to ensure the cutting edge bites into the soil, then increase speed as appropriate for ground conditions. Apply steady downward pressure while allowing the helical flighting to carry loosened soil upward. Withdraw the auger periodically to clear heavy spoil and inspect the hole depth. After use, clean soil from the flighting and cutting edge and store in a dry place to limit corrosion.
Use the auger in soils free of large rocks, metal or dense clay when possible. For compacted or stony ground, pre-loosen with a spade or choose a smaller pilot bit. Wear appropriate personal protective equipment, including eye and hand protection, and follow the safety and operating guidelines of the auger drive unit manufacturer.
