Hardware firewall Fortinet FortiGate 30G Desktop — Firewall 5.85 Mpps, IPSec 3.5 Gbit/s, Wired RJ-45, AC 100–240V
Fortinet FortiGate 30G Desktop is a compact hardware firewall intended for small offices and branch networks. It provides packet-filtering firewall performance rated at 5.85 Mpps, UDP (1518) throughput of 4 Gbit/s and IPSec VPN throughput up to 3.5 Gbit/s. The unit supports wired Ethernet connectivity via RJ-45 ports and includes a console RJ-45 port. It accepts AC 100–240 V input at 50/60 Hz and runs FortiOS, delivering an integrated platform that combines firewall, SD-WAN and other security functions for perimeter protection, secure site-to-site VPNs and traffic inspection in compact deployments.
The FortiGate 30G integrates next-generation firewall capabilities with SD-WAN in a single desktop appliance, enabling consolidated security and networking without separate hardware. Its ASIC-accelerated architecture and multi-core design provide higher throughput and lower power consumption compared with CPU-only implementations. Compatibility with FortiGuard security services and the Fortinet Security Fabric enables coordinated threat protection and simplified management across distributed sites.
Install the FortiGate 30G on a stable surface near network cabling and a compatible AC power outlet. Connect WAN and LAN networks using the device's RJ-45 Ethernet ports and attach the console RJ-45 port to a management terminal if local configuration is required. Power the unit from an AC 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz supply. Access the web-based management interface or use CLI via console to perform initial configuration, define firewall policies, set up IPSec VPNs, and enable SD-WAN features. Integrate FortiGuard services and connect the appliance to central management as needed for policy distribution and updates.
For reliable performance, deploy the FortiGate 30G within its intended role for small offices and branch locations. Keep firmware and FortiGuard signatures up to date, plan VPN and SD-WAN policies according to bandwidth requirements, and monitor throughput to ensure the device operates within its specified limits.
