Wireless Mesh Set FRITZ mesh set 1700 2-pack by FRITZ, dual-band mesh Wi‑Fi nodes
FRITZ mesh set 1700 2-pack by FRITZ is a dual‑band wireless mesh Wi‑Fi kit consisting of two compact mesh nodes designed to extend and stabilise wireless coverage in homes, multiroom apartments and small offices. Each node supports the latest Wi‑Fi 7 client connections while remaining compatible with earlier Wi‑Fi generations. The two units work together in a single mesh network to provide seamless roaming, centralised management through a FRITZ!Box or compatible mesh controller, and increased overall throughput with dedicated wired connectivity options.
The FRITZ mesh set 1700 2-pack increases wireless throughput and reduces latency by supporting Wi‑Fi 7 technologies while maintaining backward compatibility with older Wi‑Fi standards. Mesh integration simplifies installation and ongoing management via automatic band and channel selection and unified SSID handling. Each node includes a Gigabit LAN port for reliable wired connections where Wi‑Fi performance may be insufficient, and the compact design allows flexible placement to optimise coverage without occupying significant space.
Plug each mesh node into mains sockets placed where the existing Wi‑Fi signal from the main router is still sufficiently strong to provide a stable backhaul. Use the FRITZ!Box web interface or the FRITZ repeater setup procedure to add each node to the mesh network, typically by activating the Mesh/WPS button on the node and confirming the connection in the router interface. After successful integration, client devices will roam automatically between nodes; wireless clients can connect using Wi‑Fi 7 if supported, while wired devices can be connected to the Gigabit LAN ports for stable fixed‑line performance.
Place one node approximately halfway between the router and the area with weak coverage, and position the second node to cover remaining dead zones while avoiding excessive overlap. Avoid placing nodes near large metal objects or microwave ovens to reduce interference. Keep firmware for the main router and mesh nodes up to date and use the FRITZ!Box Mesh overview to check placement and channel assignment for optimal performance.
