Irrigation System Part Gardena 1867-20
The GARDENA Soil Moisture Sensor (Irrigation System Part Gardena 1867-20) measures current soil moisture and transmits the data to a compatible GARDENA Water Control or Multi-Channel Control. When the soil is sufficiently moist, the connected Water Control skips the next watering cycle, enabling automatic, demand-based irrigation that conserves water. The compact, battery-powered sensor has a low profile so lawn mowers and mowing robots can pass over it, and a five-metre connection cable that allows flexible placement. Two AA batteries (not included) power the sensor for about one year; low battery is indicated on both the Water Control and the LED in the battery compartment.
The Soil Moisture Sensor enables automatic water-saving irrigation by preventing unnecessary watering cycles when soil moisture is adequate, offers flexible placement options for lawns, flowerbeds and plant pots thanks to its compact size and five-metre cable, and provides clear feedback via the connected Water Control display and the GARDENA Bluetooth App. Its low height and flat top keep it unobtrusive for lawn care equipment, and a proven electrothermal measuring principle delivers reliable and accurate soil moisture readings.
Place the sensor in the representative area of the planting site and route the five-metre cable to the compatible GARDENA Water Control or Multi-Channel Control. Set the desired switching point for irrigation on the connected Water Control; soil moisture is shown on the Water Control display as water-drop symbols and can also be viewed in the GARDENA Bluetooth App if the Water Control is connected. Replace the two AA batteries when the low-battery indicator appears on the Water Control or the LED in the battery compartment to ensure continuous operation.
Install the sensor in a location that represents the general moisture level of the planting area (avoid placing it directly next to a sprinkler) and ensure the cable routing prevents damage from mowing equipment; extend the cable only with the manufacturer’s approved extension accessory.
