Colored pencil block A5 24 sheets 3 colors 160g paper – GDD HAPPY COLOR
The GDD HAPPY COLOR colored pencil block in A5 format contains 24 sheets of 160 g/m² paper with three different sheet colors per block. The compact A5 size is convenient for studio work, sketching on location and travel; the heavier 160 g/m² surface supports dry media such as pastels, graphite, color pencils and charcoal while allowing for blending and light erasing. The block format keeps sheets together for practice and sequential sketches and the textured surface is suitable for both detailed lines and soft shading.
The paper weight of 160 g/m² offers durability and minimal buckling when working with dry media. Three different colored sheets in one block provide immediate options for contrast and background tone without the need to prime or paint a ground. A5 format combines portability with enough drawing area for studies and finished small compositions, and the block binding secures sheets during transport and handling.
Select a sheet with the desired background tone and secure the block on a flat drawing surface or drawing board. Use pencils, pastels or charcoal directly on the textured surface; apply light layers and build up tone gradually to avoid overworking the paper. When needed, fix delicate pastel or charcoal work with an appropriate spray fixative following the fixative manufacturer’s instructions. Detach sheets from the block carefully along the binding when a finished or dried study is ready to be removed.
For best results, use predominantly dry media: graphite, colored pencils, soft pastels and charcoal. Avoid heavy wet media or excessive moisture which can deform the 160 g/m² sheets. If you plan to combine light washes, test on a spare sheet first and allow thorough drying before handling or layering additional dry media.
