Masonry Chisel Gedore 8826070
The Gedore 8826070 masonry chisel is made from chrome-molybdenum-vanadium air-hardening steel (45CrMoV7) and is carefully hardened and tempered along its full length. The striking head is inductively tempered, and the working edge is polished and protected with a clear varnish. Weighing 152 g, this chisel is compact and offers good control for precision masonry work.
Manufactured from high-grade 45CrMoV7 steel, the chisel combines wear resistance and toughness. Full-length hardening and tempering provide consistent hardness along the tool, while the inductively tempered striking head increases impact resistance. The polished, varnished edge reduces corrosion and facilitates smooth cutting and shaping of masonry materials. Its light weight improves manoeuvrability and control during detailed tasks.
Hold the chisel with a secure grip on the handle near the shaft, position the sharpened edge against the masonry at the desired angle, and strike the back of the chisel head with an appropriate hammer. Use controlled, measured blows to avoid damaging the tool or the workpiece. For large removals, proceed in small increments and re-check the line of cut frequently to maintain precision. After use, clean the edge and store the chisel in a dry place.
Use appropriate personal protective equipment (safety glasses and gloves) and a hammer suited to the chisel’s size. Avoid using the chisel on hardened steel or other materials not intended for masonry chiselling. Periodically inspect the edge for nicks and recondition or replace the tool if the working edge is badly worn.
