Gembird CAT6 UTP 100m networking cable Grey U/UTP
The Gembird CAT6 UTP 100m networking cable Grey U/UTP is a 100 meter unshielded twisted pair (UTP) cable designed for structured cabling and general network installations. Manufactured to Category 6 specifications, this cable uses solid CCA (copper-clad aluminum) conductors to support high-speed data transmission across local area networks. Its neutral grey jacket blends into residential, office and data-center environments while the U/UTP construction provides a balance of performance and flexibility for typical Ethernet applications.
This Gembird CAT6 cable offers consistent signal transmission for up to 100 meters with the Category 6 performance profile, making it suitable for gigabit Ethernet links where solid conductor topology is preferred. The CCA conductors deliver acceptable conductivity for many installations while keeping material costs and cable weight lower than pure copper alternatives. The unshielded design simplifies installation in non-EMI-critical environments and the standard grey outer jacket provides a discreet appearance in visible cable runs.
Measure and plan cable routes before installation, allowing for service loops and avoiding sources of strong electromagnetic interference. Run the cable through conduits, ceiling voids or cable trays as required, maintaining minimum bend radius as recommended for Cat6 cables. Terminate both ends with compatible RJ45 connectors or into keystone jacks/patch panels designed for solid conductors, and verify continuity and performance with appropriate network testers. For structured cabling, label each end and record the run location for future maintenance.
Use this cable for horizontal and backbone runs where shielding is not necessary. Avoid routing alongside high-power electrical cables or near large motors to minimize interference. For installations requiring maximum bandwidth or PoE at extended distances, consider cable and connector quality and test links after termination to ensure reliable gigabit performance.
