Goobay fibre optic cable SC–SC 20 m OS2 FTTH (9 µm core) White is a single-mode patch cable designed for FTTH and other optical network connections. The 20 m cable uses OS2 single-mode fibre with a 9/125 µm profile and SC–SC connectors with APC polish, enabling long-distance optical transmission and reliable links between the house transfer point and indoor optical network terminals or other optical equipment. The jacket is LSZH (low smoke zero halogen) and the cable is bend-optimised to allow space-saving installation without increased attenuation.
This Goobay OS2 SC–SC fibre cable provides a stable single-mode connection suitable for high-speed links up to 100 Gbit/s. The cable construction includes aramid yarn strain relief for improved tensile strength and durability, and comes with dust protection caps on the connectors. The bend-optimised design and minimum static bending radius of 30 mm reduce the risk of performance loss in confined installations. An individual test protocol with return loss and insertion loss measurements is supplied to verify optical performance.
Unpack the cable and remove the dust caps from each SC connector immediately before insertion. Align the SC connectors with the adapter or device ports and push until a positive click confirms seating. Avoid tight bends and maintain the recommended minimum bending radius of 30 mm during routing. After installation, secure the cable to prevent undue tensile stress on the connectors and ensure the optical connectors remain clean to maintain low insertion loss and return loss values.
For optimum performance, store and handle connectors with dust caps until ready for use, clean connector endfaces with appropriate fibre cleaning tools before mating, route the cable to avoid sharp bends and excessive tension, and verify link performance with an optical power meter or the supplied test protocol after installation. The LSZH jacket makes this cable suitable for indoor installations and confined spaces where reduced smoke and halogen emissions are required.
