Network patch cable Goobay Cat8.1 U/FTP (STP) 5 m, RJ-45 to RJ-45, black
Goobay Cat8.1 U/FTP (STP) patch cable, 5 m long, with RJ-45 to RJ-45 connectors and gold-plated contacts. This super-slim CAT cable features extra-short connectors and a flexible TPE jacket, designed for high-frequency networking and high-speed data transmission. It supports shielded twisted-pair installations to reduce electromagnetic interference and is suitable where Cat8.1 performance and compact cabling are required, such as server cabinets, patch panels, switches and router connections.
The cable combines a slim outer diameter and AWG 32 conductors with full Cat8.1 performance, enabling transmission bandwidths up to 2 GHz (2000 MHz) and compatibility with 25/40GBASE-T networks while remaining backward compatible with 10/100/1000 and 10GBASE-T. Extra-short RJ-45 connectors and a reduced cable volume improve air circulation in server racks and patch panels, helping to limit heat build-up. U/FTP (STP) shielding around each twisted pair reduces crosstalk and external interference, while gold-plated contacts ensure reliable signal transfer. The low-smoke, halogen-free TPE jacket and compact bend protection deliver a small bending radius, high flexibility and extended service life.
Connect one RJ-45 plug to the network switch, router or patch panel and the other plug to the target device or next network component. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until they click to guarantee proper contact. For PoE installations verify that connected devices and switches support the desired PoE standard. When routing the cable through racks or conduits, avoid tight kinks and respect the small bending radius provided by the compact bend protection to maintain signal integrity.
For optimum performance in server rooms and high-density installations, use the extra-short connector orientation to minimise cable congestion and preserve airflow. Keep shield continuity intact by connecting to shielded ports or using appropriate grounding at termination points when integrating into shielded installations.
