Network switch Grandstream GWN 7700MP with 5x 2.5GbE ports and 1x SFP
Grandstream GWN 7700MP is a compact managed network switch with five 2.5GbE Ethernet ports and an SFP uplink port. Designed for small and medium businesses and branch offices, the switch delivers multi-gig connectivity to high-bandwidth devices such as access points, IP phones, and workstations while offering a fiber-capable uplink for longer distance or high-performance backbone connections. The device implements essential switching features to aggregate traffic, reduce bottlenecks, and simplify wired network deployment in constrained rack or wall-mount environments.
The Grandstream GWN 7700MP provides multi-gig throughput on five copper ports to support devices that require higher bandwidth than standard Gigabit Ethernet. The integrated SFP port enables flexible uplink options including single-mode or multi-mode fiber modules for extended reach or connection to core switches. The switch reduces cabling complexity by centralizing wired connectivity and supports typical managed switch capabilities to improve traffic segmentation and performance. Its compact form factor allows installation in small network closets or on-site cabinets where space is limited.
Install the Grandstream GWN 7700MP on a shelf, in a small cabinet, or on a wall bracket as appropriate for the site. Connect upstream network equipment via the SFP slot using a compatible fiber module, or use the SFP for a copper SFP transceiver if required. Attach wired devices to the 2.5GbE RJ45 ports using Cat5e/Cat6 or better cabling to achieve multi-gig speeds. Configure switch settings through the vendor management interface or integrate into an existing network management system to set VLANs, QoS, and link aggregation as needed for traffic segmentation and prioritization.
The switch is best used as an access/aggregation device for multi-gig endpoints and should be paired with compatible cabling and transceivers. For optimal performance, use Cat5e/Cat6A cabling for 2.5GbE links and select SFP modules that match the fiber type and distance requirements of your backbone. When deploying in mixed-speed environments, configure VLANs and QoS to ensure critical services like voice and video receive appropriate prioritization.
