Landscape Fabric Greenmill black 1.6 x 5 m 50 g/m² GR1014
Landscape Fabric Greenmill black 1.6 x 5 m 50 g/m² GR1014
Black landscape fabric Greenmill 1.6 x 5 m, weight 50 g/m² GR1014 is a permeable weed-control textile designed for use in gardens and landscaped areas. The fabric suppresses weed growth while allowing water and air to pass through, helping to maintain soil moisture and support plant health. Its 1.6 x 5 m size covers moderate beds and pathways and can be trimmed to fit irregular shapes around shrubs, trees and borders.
The fabric’s non-woven structure balances durability and breathability, providing effective weed suppression without blocking rainfall or irrigation. Its black colour reduces light penetration to the soil surface, slowing weed germination while remaining discreet under mulch or gravel. Lightweight yet tear-resistant at 50 g/m², the material is easy to handle, cut and position, and it helps reduce long-term maintenance by limiting manual weeding and preserving soil moisture.
Prepare the planting area by removing existing weeds and leveling the soil surface. Roll out the landscape fabric with the black side up and cut to required lengths using scissors or a utility knife, allowing overlaps of 10–15 cm at seams. Secure the fabric with landscape staples or pins at regular intervals to prevent movement. If used under mulch or gravel, cover the fabric with a uniform layer of the chosen topping material to protect it from UV exposure and to improve appearance. For planting points, cut an X-shaped slit or circle and fold back the material to plant, then cover around the stem or crown to maintain coverage.
Place the fabric beneath at least 5 cm of mulch or 3–5 cm of decorative stone to extend its lifespan by reducing direct sun exposure. Inspect seams and anchor points annually and replace sections if they become torn or heavily degraded. Avoid covering perennial planting points directly against stems to allow air circulation and prevent moisture trapping at the crown.
