Hager SFT340 Modular Changeover Switch 40A 3P
The Hager SFT340 is a high-quality 3-pole modular changeover switch engineered for seamless and reliable power source switching within electrical distribution boards. Designed to handle a rated current of 40A and an operating voltage of 400V AC, this device provides a secure manual interface for toggling between two distinct power supplies, such as a main grid and a backup generator. Its robust construction ensures consistent performance and high operational safety standards, making it a dependable choice for managing electrical circuits in both residential and industrial environments.
The primary benefit of the Hager SFT340 is its ability to provide safe and controlled isolation between two power sources, preventing dangerous feedback or short circuits. Its modular design allows for easy installation on standard DIN rails, ensuring compatibility with most modern distribution board configurations. The switch features a clear 1-0-2 operation mode, which provides a neutral off position for added safety during maintenance or system switching. Built with high-grade materials, it offers long-term durability and resistance to the mechanical wear associated with frequent manual switching operations.
This switch is not designed for automatic power transfer and requires manual intervention to change sources. It is also not suitable for applications exceeding its 40A current rating or for use in environments with extreme moisture or corrosive atmospheres without appropriate protective enclosures.
The Hager SFT340 should be installed by a qualified electrician within a standard electrical distribution board. Once mounted on the DIN rail, the input terminals are connected to the two power sources, and the output terminals are connected to the load circuit. To operate, simply move the front-facing toggle to position 1 to engage the first power source, position 0 to disconnect both sources, or position 2 to engage the second power source.
Always ensure the switch is in the neutral 0 position before performing any maintenance on the connected circuits. Periodically inspect the terminals for tightness to prevent overheating due to loose connections.
