Managed Switch Hikvision DS-3E1518P-SI 16 Ports Gigabit Ethernet PoE
The Hikvision DS-3E1518P-SI 16 Ports Gigabit Ethernet PoE is a managed network switch designed for small to medium-sized installations requiring reliable Gigabit connectivity and centralized power delivery over Ethernet. With 16 Gigabit ports and integrated Power over Ethernet functionality, the unit consolidates data and power distribution for IP cameras, access points, and other PoE devices. The switch provides a switching capacity of 36 Gbit/s and an 8000-entry MAC address table to support multiple connected devices and efficient frame forwarding.
The device offers managed switching features that enable traffic control, VLAN segmentation and quality of service configuration for predictable network behavior. Integrated PoE simplifies deployment of powered devices by supplying DC power over standard Ethernet cabling, reducing the need for separate power sources. A 36 Gbit/s switching capacity and an 8000-entry MAC table help maintain throughput and minimize packet loss as the network scales. The form factor and port density support rack or shelf installation in equipment rooms or at network distribution points.
Install the switch in an appropriate equipment space and connect the unit to your network backbone using one of the Gigabit uplink ports. Connect PoE-compatible devices such as IP cameras or wireless access points to the PoE-enabled ports using standard Ethernet cables. Access the switch management interface via its web GUI or supported management protocol to configure VLANs, QoS policies, link aggregation and other Layer 2 settings. Monitor connected devices and traffic through the management system and adjust PoE power distribution as needed to stay within the device’s total power budget.
Place the switch in a ventilated environment and ensure the total PoE consumption of connected devices does not exceed the switch’s power budget. Use quality Cat5e or Cat6 cabling for Gigabit links, keep firmware up to date for security and stability, and segment traffic with VLANs to isolate surveillance, wireless and administrative networks.
