Mason's pencil HOGERT HT3B772, 4H hardness, 250 mm
Mason's pencil HOGERT HT3B772, 4H hardness, 250 mm is a long, rigid marking pencil designed for precise layout and durable lines on masonry, concrete, wood and other construction materials. The 4H graphite core produces a hard, fine line that resists smudging and maintains point integrity under pressure. Its 250 mm length gives extended reach and longer usage between sharpenings, making it practical for building, renovation and site work.
The hard 4H core ensures consistent, thin marks that are easy to read on rough surfaces and that withstand abrasive handling. The robust wooden barrel reduces breakage and supports repeated sharpening to a fine point. The pencil's extended 250 mm length provides improved grip and longer service life compared with standard-size marking pencils. It is suitable for heavy-duty use on construction sites and in workshops where durable layout lines are required.
Sharpen the pencil to a fine point using a carpenter's sharpener or a suitable knife, taking care to maintain a straight edge for consistent lines. Apply firm pressure when marking on rough surfaces such as concrete or brick to ensure the 4H core contacts surface irregularities. For extended, straight layout lines use a ruler, chalk line or straightedge as a guide. Store the pencil in a dry place and avoid dropping it from heights to reduce the risk of core damage.
Use the 4H pencil for precise witness marks and fine layout lines; switch to a softer grade if darker, thicker lines are required for temporary marks. Regularly resharpen to maintain accuracy and consider pairing with a carpenter's holder for improved control during prolonged tasks.
