The ProLabs J4858D-C-5PK is a 5-pack of compatible SFP fiber optic transceiver modules designed for 1000Base-SX links. Each module supports a data rate of 1000 Mbit/s over multimode fiber (MMF) at an operating wavelength of 850 nm and uses an LC connector. The modules are programmed, uniquely serialized and tested for data traffic and applications to ensure they initialize and perform identically to the equivalent HP® transceiver and comply with MSA standards. This product is TAA compliant and covered by a limited lifetime warranty.
The ProLabs J4858D-C-5PK offers hot-swappable installation, guaranteed compatibility with the corresponding HP® transceiver, and factory testing for reliable plug-and-play operation. It is manufactured to meet or exceed HP specifications and MSA interoperability requirements, and sold in a 5-unit pack suitable for multiple port or bulk deployments.
Power down the target port if required by your equipment, remove any dust caps from the transceiver and fiber connectors, then insert the SFP module firmly into the device SFP slot until it clicks. Attach LC fiber patch cables to the module ports ensuring correct polarity. After insertion the module should initialize automatically; confirm link status in your switch or server management interface and adjust settings if needed.
For optimal performance, use multimode fiber (OM1/OM2/OM3/OM4 as appropriate) compatible with 850 nm operation, keep fiber connectors clean, and verify firmware or vendor OS compatibility for HP-compatible modules before large-scale deployment.
