The InLine® Network Media Converter 10Gb/s TP to fibre optic (model 66659E) converts electrical copper signals from twisted-pair Ethernet into optical signals for fibre connections, enabling network migration or expansion at low cost. It supports multimode fibre connections up to 300 metres and includes an SFP module pre-installed. The compact device comes with mounting brackets and an external 12V DC/1A power supply.
The converter features an integrated high-performance core with broadcast storm control, IEEE 802.3x flow control and CRC error checking to maintain stable data transmission. It has low power consumption and low heat generation for prolonged reliable operation. Status LEDs indicate power, link and activity, and a Link Fault Pass Through (LFP) function simplifies network maintenance.
Mount the media converter using the supplied brackets or place it on a flat surface. Connect the twisted-pair Ethernet cable to the RJ45 port and insert the fibre connection into the SFP port (SFP is pre-installed). Plug the external 12V DC/1A power supply into the device and a mains outlet. Monitor the status LEDs to verify power and link/activity; configure attached network devices as required for 10GBase-T or compatible speeds. Use Link Fault Pass Through (LFP) functionality to assist troubleshooting when a link fails.
Install the converter in a ventilated, dust-free environment within the specified operating temperature and humidity ranges. Use multimode fibre and compatible SFP modules as supplied; verify cable quality and RJ45 shielding for reliable 10GBase-T performance. Regularly check LED indicators and secure mounting to prevent mechanical stress.
