Patch cable InLine Cat5e SF/UTP, yellow, 0.5 m
InLine Patch cable Cat5e SF/UTP, yellow, 0.5 m is a short RJ45 patch lead designed for connecting network devices within structured cabling installations. The cable meets Cat5e performance up to 125 MHz and supports Gigabit Ethernet (1 Gbit/s). It features two moulded 8P8C (RJ45) plugs and a yellow jacket for easy identification in racks and patch panels. The cable's SF/UTP construction combines individually foil-shielded pairs with an overall braided screen to reduce near-end crosstalk and external electromagnetic interference on short link segments.
The SF/UTP (S-FTP) shielding provides improved protection against external noise compared with unshielded cables while retaining the flexibility and compact size needed for short patching runs. Moulded RJ45 plugs ensure consistent contact and strain relief for reliable mating with switches, routers, sockets and patch panels. The 0.5 m length minimises excess cable in dense rack environments and the yellow outer sheath helps with visual cable management and fast identification.
Insert each RJ45 plug into the corresponding ports on the network devices until a firm click indicates engagement. Use the cable for short point-to-point connections where a 0.5 m patch lead is sufficient to avoid cable clutter. Ensure both device ports support Cat5e wiring and that terminations on patch panels or sockets follow EIA/TIA 568B standard to maintain correct pair alignment and performance.
For optimal performance, avoid tight bends or kinks near the moulded plugs and maintain a bend radius of at least four times the cable diameter. Keep the cable away from strong electromagnetic sources and power cabling where possible despite the shielding. Use the yellow colour to standardise patching schemes and label ends if used in large installations.
