Patch Cable InLine Crossover PC-to-PC SF/UTP Cat.5e RJ-45 — 2 m, grey
InLine Crossover PC-to-PC SF/UTP Cat.5e RJ-45 — 2 m, grey is a crossover patch cable designed to connect two computers or network devices directly without an intermediate switch. It meets Cat.5e performance for Ethernet applications and features SF/UTP (S-FTP) shielding to reduce electromagnetic interference in environments with potential noise. The cable is terminated with RJ-45 connectors on both ends and is supplied in a 2 metre length in a neutral grey jacket.
This crossover cable provides a ready-made solution for direct device-to-device connections and network troubleshooting. The Cat.5e specification supports typical Ethernet speeds up to 1 Gbps under recommended conditions, while the SF/UTP shielding (foil-wrapped pairs with an overall braid) improves signal integrity in electrically noisy environments. The RJ-45 terminations ensure compatibility with standard network ports and the 2 m length balances reach and cable management in desktop setups.
This cable follows crossover wiring and therefore is not appropriate for standard straight-through connections to most switches or routers unless those devices support automatic MDI/MDIX. For longer links or where installation requires higher category performance (Cat6 or above) or plenum-rated jackets, choose a cable that matches those specific requirements. The 2 m length limits its use to short-distance connections.
Connect each RJ-45 connector to the Ethernet port of each device to be linked. Verify that the connected devices accept crossover wiring or support auto MDI/MDIX; if not, use a straight-through patch cable and a switch. For best performance, avoid running the cable parallel to mains power cables or close to large inductive loads. Inspect connectors for secure seating and test the link with network diagnostics to confirm connectivity and speed.
For reliable links, keep the InLine crossover cable away from power sources and minimize bends near the connectors. Use a network tester after installation to confirm pair integrity and shielding continuity. If you need longer runs or higher bandwidth headroom, consider a higher-category shielded cable.
