Patch Cable Crossover InLine Cat5e SF/UTP (S-FTP) RJ-45–RJ-45 0.25 m, grey
The InLine Patch Cable Crossover InLine Cat5e SF/UTP (S-FTP) RJ-45–RJ-45 0.25 m is a short crossover Ethernet cable designed for direct device-to-device connections where transmit and receive pairs must be swapped. Constructed to Cat5e performance with SF/UTP (S-FTP) shielding, this grey 0.25 m cable provides reduced electromagnetic interference and stable signal transmission for short-range network links between two computers, hubs or compatible devices that require crossover wiring.
This crossover cable meets Cat5e specifications and features SF/UTP (S-FTP) shielding to minimize crosstalk and external interference in electrically noisy environments. The RJ-45 connectors on both ends ensure a standardised physical connection, while the compact 0.25 m length reduces cable clutter and signal attenuation on short links. The cable’s construction supports typical Ethernet applications up to Cat5e speeds and provides a straightforward, plug-and-play solution for direct device pairing without intermediate switches.
This 0.25 m crossover cable is not intended for long-distance networking or permanent in-wall installations; its short length restricts use to nearby devices. It may also be unnecessary when modern switches and NICs support automatic MDI/MDI-X crossover (auto-sensing), in which case a straight-through patch cable can be used instead.
Plug each RJ-45 connector into the Ethernet ports of the two devices you want to connect directly. Ensure both devices are powered on and configured for a direct network link or set to obtain IP addresses automatically via DHCP if available. For devices with manual network settings, assign compatible IP addresses and subnet masks before testing connectivity. Because the cable is a crossover type, no additional crossover adapters or rewiring are required when connecting compatible devices that do not auto-sense link polarity.
Use this cable for short, direct connections in desk setups, test benches or temporary network configurations. Avoid routing the cable near high-power mains cables or sources of strong EMI despite the shielding, and keep connectors free of dust or debris to maintain reliable contacts.
