Fiber optic simplex cable InLine SC/APC to SC/APC 9/125µm OS2 20m
Fiber optic simplex cable InLine SC/APC to SC/APC 9/125µm OS2 20m
InLine Fiber optic simplex cable SC/APC to SC/APC 9/125µm OS2, 20 m, is a single-mode indoor cable designed for FTTH installations and patching in premises where SC/APC connectors and OS2 performance are required. The 9/125µm OS2 fibre offers low attenuation for long-distance signal transmission. The cable comes in white with a 3.0 mm armoured outer diameter and reinforced construction to improve durability compared with very thin pre-installed provider cables.
The cable uses single-mode OS2 fibre with APC 8° polished SC connectors on both ends, providing low insertion loss and high return loss for stable signal quality. Its armoured structure with a flexible metal tubing and halogen-free jacket increases mechanical protection and fire safety for indoor use. The 20 m length gives flexibility for modem positioning and home network layout while a supplied test report verifies optical performance.
This cable is single-mode OS2 and uses SC/APC connectors; it is not suitable for multimode networks or systems that require different connector types (e.g. SC/UPC, LC). It is designed for indoor FTTH and patching; for outdoor direct burial or long outdoor runs additional outdoor-rated or armoured field cables should be chosen.
Route the cable carefully following bend radius recommendations for single-mode fibre and avoid sharp bends or kinks. Insert the SC/APC connectors into compatible SC/APC ports on your optical modem or patch panel until they click into place, taking care to align the keyed connector housings. If extending an existing installation, verify connector polish types and fibre type to ensure compatibility. Use the supplied test report or an optical power meter and light source to confirm insertion loss and continuity after installation.
Handle the cable by its jacket and avoid touching or contaminating connector end-faces; use proper cleaning tools for APC connectors. Maintain recommended bend radius during installation and perform a continuity and insertion loss check after connecting to ensure the installed link meets expected OS2 performance.
