Fiber optic simplex cable InLine FTTH SC/APC to SC/APC 9/125µm OS2, 50 m
Fiber optic simplex cable InLine FTTH SC/APC to SC/APC 9/125µm OS2, 50 m
InLine Fiber optic simplex cable FTTH SC/APC to SC/APC 9/125µm OS2, 50 m is a single‑mode patch cable designed for fibre‑to‑the‑home (FTTH) installations and telecom links. It features SC/APC connectors with an 8° angled polish on both ends and OS2 9/125µm fiber to support long‑distance single‑mode transmission. The cable has a 3.0 mm outer diameter with armouring and a white, neutral sheath suitable for visible indoor routing. Typical insertion loss is below 0.20 dB and return loss exceeds 60 dB, and each cable is supplied with a test report.
The construction combines a single core OS2 fiber with a stainless steel spiral tube reinforcement and a halogen‑free outer jacket to provide mechanical protection and long‑term reliability in domestic FTTH environments. Compared with very thin pre‑installed jumpers, this 3 mm armoured cable offers improved robustness against bending, crushing and accidental damage while remaining flexible enough for home installations. Low insertion loss and high return loss ensure stable optical performance for modems, ONTs and patch panels.
Route the InLine SC/APC to SC/APC simplex cable between the fibre entry point and the FTTH modem or patch panel, avoiding tight bends and sharp edges. Insert the SC/APC connectors into the corresponding female SC/APC adapters or ports until they click into place, ensuring the 8° angled polish faces the mating connector for optimal return loss. When removing the cable, pull the connector body rather than the cable jacket to avoid stress on the inner fiber. Keep dust caps on connectors until connection and clean connector endfaces with appropriate fiber cleaning tools if necessary.
For reliable long‑term performance, maintain the minimum bend radius specified for single‑mode armoured cable, avoid repeated flexing at the same point, and store spare lengths coiled loosely. Use proper fibre cleaning and handling procedures before mating connectors and verify optical performance with a test report or simple loss measurement after installation.
