InLine Simplex ST/ST Multimode Fiber Optical Connector with Metal Sleeve

The InLine Simplex ST/ST Multimode Fiber Optical Connector with Metal Sleeve is a reliable fiber optic coupler designed to establish and extend stable network connections in telecommunications and data communication systems. Featuring a durable silver metal housing and a precision sleeve, this adapter ensures consistent optical signal transmission for multimode fiber setups. It offers a straightforward solution for linking two multimode cables without the need for extensive re-cabling, making it a practical component for professional IT environments and structured cabling systems.

Advantages

This fiber optic coupler facilitates quick and efficient connection extensions in patch areas and test setups. The robust metal housing provides physical durability and long-term reliability in everyday network operations. The precision internal sleeve ensures accurate alignment of the optical connectors, minimizing signal loss and maintaining stable transmission quality. Its compact design allows for seamless integration into existing infrastructure without requiring specialized tools for deployment.

Suitable for

• Extending existing multimode fiber optic lines in data centers
• Connecting patch cables in telecommunication networks
• Temporary test setups and service deployments in IT environments
• Adapting fiber optic connections in corporate and public institution infrastructures

This connector may not be suitable for single-mode fiber optic systems, as it is specifically engineered and optimized for multimode fiber applications. It is also not intended for outdoor installations lacking proper weatherproof enclosures or for heavy industrial environments with extreme mechanical stress beyond standard IT and telecommunication use.

Key specifications

• Connector type: Simplex ST female to ST female
• Fiber type: Multimode
• Housing material: Metal
• Sleeve type: Metal and ceramic precision sleeve
• Color: Silver
• Weight: 8 g
• Dimensions: 10 mm width, 40 mm depth, 10 mm height

To use the connector, ensure that both mating ST fiber optic cables are clean and free of dust or debris. Insert the first ST connector into one side of the coupler until it clicks or twists securely into place, depending on the bayonet mechanism. Repeat the process on the other side with the second multimode cable to complete the simplex link. Handle the connectors with care to avoid scratching the fiber end faces during insertion.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your existing cables utilize ST connectors and multimode fiber specifications
• Check whether a simplex configuration matches your network architecture requirements
• Ensure the installation environment is indoor or appropriately housed for telecommunication equipment

Usage recommendations: Always inspect and clean fiber optic end faces with appropriate cleaning tools prior to coupling to maintain optimal signal integrity. Store unused connectors in protective caps to prevent dust accumulation and potential damage to the internal sleeve.
