SFP Fiber Optical Transceiver INTELLINET 1000Base-SX (LC) Multi-Mode 550 m, 3.3 V, Metal Housing
INTELLINET SFP Fiber Optical Transceiver 1000Base-SX (LC) is a compact gigabit-grade module designed for multi-mode fiber links up to 550 m. The MSA-compliant SFP interface and silver metal housing provide mechanical robustness and EMI protection while maintaining a 3.3 V supply and typical power consumption near 1 W. The module supports digital diagnostics monitoring (DDM) for real-time access to optical output/input power, temperature, laser bias current and supply voltage, and is suitable for fibre uplinks in switches, routers and industrial network equipment.
The metal housing improves durability and reduces electromagnetic interference, enabling use in industrial or high-density rack environments. MSA compliance ensures broad multi-vendor compatibility with SFP-enabled switches and routers. Hot-pluggable operation lets you install or remove the transceiver without powering down the host device. Integrated DDM provides live operational telemetry for status monitoring and troubleshooting.
Insert the SFP transceiver into any compatible SFP slot on your switch, router or media converter while the device remains powered if hot-plugging is supported by the host. Connect LC-terminated multi-mode fiber cables to the transceiver’s duplex LC port, observing transmit/receive orientation. Configure the host port for 1000Base-SX operation if required; many switches will auto-negotiate. Use the host management interface to check DDM parameters and verify link status and optical power levels.
To ensure reliable operation, use OM2/OM3/OM4 multi-mode fiber and LC patch cords rated for the intended link distance, avoid excessive bending or stress on fiber connectors, and verify compatibility with the host device. For installations in harsh environments, ensure proper ventilation or enclosure protection and monitor DDM readings for early detection of degraded optical performance.
