The Intellinet Power over Ethernet Injector 524179 lets you power IEEE 802.3af-compliant devices over existing Cat5/Cat5e cabling while simultaneously carrying data at 10/100 Mbit/s. The compact injector provides 48 V DC (up to the IEEE 802.3af limit) and connects between a non‑PoE switch and a powered device such as an IP camera, wireless access point or VoIP phone.

Advantages

The injector reduces wiring costs by eliminating the need to run separate AC power to network devices and preserves investments in existing non‑PoE switches by adding PoE capability without replacing the switch. Built‑in protections guard connected equipment against short circuits, current overloads (over ~450 mA) and excessive voltage (above ~52 V). Its compact black enclosure and two RJ‑45 ports simplify integration into existing network racks or cabling closets.

How to use

Connect the injector's LAN input port to a non‑PoE switch using Cat5/Cat5e cable, then connect the injector's PoE output port to the powered device (PD) with Cat5/Cat5e. Power the injector from AC mains (follow the included power adapter/instructions). The injector will inject DC power onto the Ethernet pair while passing data, enabling the PD to operate without a separate AC line.
