The Intellinet 2-Port Gigabit High-Power PoE+ Extender Repeater extends Power over Ethernet connections so you can place PoE devices farther from the PoE source. It draws the power it needs from the PoE input and provides two Gigabit PoE output ports, allowing extended reach over Cat5e or Cat6 cabling without an extra power supply. The device supports IEEE 802.3at and IEEE 802.3af standards and forwards data at Gigabit speeds.

Advantages

The PoE+ extender increases maximum cable distance between a PoE source and powered devices by providing two additional output ports while complying with IEEE 802.3at/af standards. It eliminates the need to run separate AC power lines to devices such as wireless access points, IP cameras or VoIP phones and keeps installation simple by drawing power from the upstream PoE injector or switch. The repeater supports up to 30 W of input power to connected compliant devices and enables a combined reach of up to 200 m (656 ft.) between the PoE source and a powered device when chaining two 100 m segments.

How to use

Connect the PoE source (PoE switch or PoE injector) to the device's PoE In port using Cat5e or Cat6 cable. Then connect up to two PoE-powered devices to the PoE Out ports using appropriate Ethernet cable. Ensure that the upstream PoE source can supply sufficient power for the connected devices. No separate power adapter is required for the extender; once connected it will pass data and DC power to the downstream devices at Gigabit speeds.

Usage recommendations

For reliable operation, use good-quality Cat5e or Cat6 cabling and verify the upstream PoE switch or injector supports IEEE 802.3at if you intend to power devices requiring higher wattage. Avoid exceeding the available power budget of the PoE source when connecting multiple devices.
