The Intellinet Gigabit Switch 5-Port with PoE Passthrough is a compact unmanaged Ethernet switch that receives power from a PoE source and forwards data and electrical power to connected devices over Cat5e/Cat6 cables. It includes five Gigabit RJ45 ports: one PD (powered device) port for connection to a PoE injector or switch and four PSE (power sourcing equipment) ports for powering IEEE 802.3af/at devices. The unit supports IEEE 802.3bt input up to 95 W and delivers up to 30 W per PoE output port while providing a switching capacity of 10 Gbit/s and gigabit network speeds.
This PoE passthrough switch extends a single PoE feed to multiple endpoints without additional power wiring, doubles the practical PoE range from 100 m to 200 m for downstream devices when used as an extender, and supplies up to 30 W per port to compatible devices. Its five auto-sensing Gigabit ports eliminate bottlenecks for connected devices, and the device can be mounted on a wall or placed on a desk using included rubber feet.
Connect the PD port (port 5) of the switch to a PoE injector or PoE-capable switch to provide input power and data. Attach your PoE devices (VoIP phones, access points, cameras) to the remaining four Gigabit ports; the unit will use part of the incoming power to operate itself and forward the available PoE power to those devices. Use standard Cat5e or Cat6 cables and keep individual cable runs within the extended 200 m total reach when using the device as a passthrough extender.
For reliable operation, ensure the PoE source can supply sufficient total wattage (up to 95 W) to cover the switch’s own consumption plus the combined requirements of connected PoE devices (up to 30 W per port). Install the switch on a stable surface or mount it to the wall using the built-in holes, and use quality Cat5e/Cat6 cabling to maintain gigabit performance and PoE delivery.
