Drill-Powered Water Pump Irwin IW9094114 – Max Hose Diameter 3/4", Length 40 m
The Irwin Drill-Powered Water Pump IW9094114 is a portable transfer solution that connects to a standard power drill to move water. Specified for a maximum hose inner diameter of 3/4" and a total hose length of 40 m, this tool-driven pump is intended for temporary water transfer tasks such as draining shallow areas, irrigation, filling containers and other short-term water moving jobs where portability and the use of an existing drill are preferred.
This drill-powered pump provides a lightweight, compact alternative to electric or petrol-powered pumps by leveraging the rotational power of a commonly available drill. The design supports long reach through a 40 m hose length while maintaining compatibility with hoses up to 3/4" inner diameter, allowing flexible placement of the drill relative to the water source. It is easy to store and transport because it has no built-in motor or fuel system, and it reduces initial cost when an appropriate drill is already available.
Attach the pump coupling to the chuck of a compatible drill, secure the recommended hose with the pump outlet and place the intake end into the water source. Start the drill at a low speed to prime the pump and increase speed as required for desired flow, taking care not to exceed the drill manufacturer's recommended load. Monitor the hose routing to avoid kinks or sharp bends and ensure the receiving container or discharge point is secure. Stop the drill and remove the pump when transfer is complete, and drain the hose before storage.
Use a variable-speed drill with sufficient torque and avoid high speeds under heavy load to protect both drill and pump components. For best results, keep the intake submerged and minimize air ingress to maintain steady flow. After use, rinse and dry the hose and pump components to extend service life.
