Managed Switch Juniper EX2300-48P
The Juniper Networks EX2300-48P is a managed L2/L3 Gigabit Ethernet switch designed for access-layer deployments in branch offices, remote sites and campus networks. This 1U rack-mountable switch provides 48 Gigabit PoE ports, a switching capacity of 176 Gbit/s and a MAC address table of 16,000 entries. Select models in the EX2300 family are hardware-ready for Junos Fusion Enterprise and can be deployed in Virtual Chassis configurations to simplify management and scale for smaller networks.
The EX2300-48P delivers ASIC-based wire-rate forwarding with an integrated CPU to maintain consistent performance even when control-plane features are enabled. It supports PoE (IEEE 802.3af Class 3) and PoE+ (IEEE 802.3at) with a maximum system power budget of 740 W to power phones, access points, cameras and other powered devices. The compact 1U design and support for standard Ethernet and management protocols make it suitable for enterprise access deployments requiring reliable, carrier-class forwarding behavior.
Install the EX2300-48P in a standard 19-inch rack using the supplied rack-mount brackets. Connect uplink or stacking ports to the network core or other EX2300 switches when using Virtual Chassis. Attach powered devices to the PoE-enabled RJ-45 ports; configure PoE allocation and power profiles through the Junos OS management interface. Perform initial configuration via the console port or through out-of-band management, then apply VLANs, access control, and routing policies as required for your network design.
Place the switch in a controlled environment with adequate ventilation and power protection. Monitor PoE consumption to avoid exceeding the 740 W system budget and use Virtual Chassis or Junos Fusion Enterprise where centralized management or simplified closet aggregation is required.
