Combination Tank KOSPEL 250/60 – indirect water heater and buffer tank 250 L / 60 L
The Combination Tank KOSPEL 250/60 is a dual-function vessel that integrates a 250-litre buffer tank with a 60-litre indirect water heater. Designed for use with boilers, heat pumps and solar thermal systems, this unit stores thermal energy for central heating circuits while supplying domestic hot water through an internal heat exchanger connected to an external heat source. The tank includes dedicated ports and mounting points for temperature sensors and connections to existing heating and DHW circuits, enabling straightforward integration into residential or light-commercial installations.
The separated volumes for heating buffer and indirect domestic hot water reduce cross-contamination risks and allow independent temperature management for each function. The combined design saves floor space compared with separate tanks and simplifies hydraulic layouts by centralising storage and DHW production. Built-in sensor mounts and standard connection points support accurate system control and easy commissioning.
Connect the buffer tank to the heating circuit and the indirect water heater chamber to the chosen heat source using appropriate piping and fittings. Install temperature sensors in the provided mounts and connect to the system controller for coordinated charging and discharging of the buffer volume and for DHW production. Follow local regulations and manufacturer installation guidelines for pressure relief, expansion vessel sizing and corrosion protection. Commission the installation by filling, venting air from the system, and verifying correct flow directions and sensor readings before regular operation.
To ensure reliable performance, use corrosion-resistant fittings and maintain recommended water quality for closed heating systems. Regularly check sensor connections and hydraulic seals, and schedule periodic inspections of safety and control devices. Select pipe diameters and pump capacities appropriate to the tank volumes to optimise charging times and maintain stable domestic hot water delivery.
