RSGE-16 is an unmanaged Gigabit Ethernet switch from Lanberg designed for home, business, surveillance, IP, VoIP and cable TV networks. The compact metal housing and included mounting ears allow installation in server cabinets (10" and 19"). The switch provides reliable wired connectivity for small and medium installations and supports standard Ethernet topologies and Gigabit speeds on all ports.

Advantages

The switch offers an extend mode that enables data transmission up to 250 meters on a single Ethernet cable at reduced speed, a port isolation (VLAN) option that separates standard ports from uplink ports, and integrated 2 kV ESD protection for all ports. The package includes mounting ears and screws for flexible installation in 10" and 19" racks.

Install the switch in a suitable location or mount it in a 10" or 19" rack using the supplied ears and screws. Connect network devices to the Gigabit ports. To enable long-distance transmission, set the housing switch to "Extend 250 m"; note that extended links operate at reduced throughput (up to 10 Mbps). To separate standard ports from uplinks, toggle the housing switch to "VLAN" position, which isolates ports 1–14 and permits communication only with uplink ports 15–16. Provide appropriate power and cable management to maintain stable operation.

Keep uplink ports for distribution or core connections and enable VLAN isolation when device separation improves security or system stability.
