Cable connector Lapp RJ45 male 21700615 — black, stainless steel
Lapp 21700615 is a robust RJ45 male cable connector with a black, stainless steel finish designed for reliable Ethernet terminations. The connector features a die-cast zinc metal housing with a black surface treatment and a nickel-plated contact area to ensure mechanical stability and consistent electrical contact. Supplied as a single piece, it is suited for industrial and commercial network cabling where a metal-bodied, durable Cat6A-capable RJ45 male connector is required.
The connector uses insulation displacement technology to facilitate quick and secure cable connection without the need for soldering. Colour-coded core management reduces assembly errors by supporting both PROFINET and EIA/TIA (T568A/T568B) wiring schemes, including options for reduced conductor diameters and 2-pair PROFINET wiring. Its die-cast metal housing provides mechanical stability and longevity, while UL certification supports use on the North American market. The product is suitable for all Ethernet applications up to 10GBase-T and is available in straight and angled outlet designs with locking clip or strain relief options.
Prepare the Ethernet cable by stripping the outer sheath to the recommended length and align the individual cores according to the chosen wiring scheme (T568A, T568B or PROFINET 2‑pair). Insert the cores into the IDC core manager following the printed colour coding. Use the appropriate assembly tool or press procedure to terminate the wires into the IDC contacts, then close and secure the housing. Choose the required outlet orientation (straight or angled) and attach the strain relief gland or locking clip if applicable to secure the cable and provide mechanical protection.
Verify the selected colour coding matches the intended network standard before termination. For reliable performance at 10GBase-T, use Cat6A-rated cable and maintain proper cable preparation and contact termination procedures. When deployed in harsh or vibration-prone environments, use the strain relief gland and ensure the housing is fully closed to preserve mechanical stability and shielding.
