LevelOne POS-1002 Fast Ethernet PoE Splitter, 802.3af, 5-12V DC Output
The LevelOne POS-1002 Fast Ethernet PoE Splitter is a reliable networking solution designed to separate a combined Power over Ethernet signal into distinct data and power streams. Compliant with IEEE 802.3af standards, this device enables the deployment of non-PoE hardware in locations where traditional power outlets are unavailable, utilizing a single Ethernet cable for both connectivity and power delivery.
This splitter significantly reduces installation complexity and infrastructure costs by eliminating the need for additional power cabling near remote network devices. Its compact design and adjustable output voltage settings provide versatile compatibility with a wide range of hardware, while built-in short circuit protection ensures the safety of connected equipment. By supporting Fast Ethernet speeds, it maintains efficient network performance while simplifying the integration of non-PoE devices into an existing PoE-enabled network environment.
This device is designed specifically for Fast Ethernet speeds and will not support Gigabit Ethernet throughput. It is intended for use with devices requiring 5V, 9V, or 12V DC power and may not be compatible with equipment requiring higher voltage or different power connector types.
To use the LevelOne POS-1002, connect your PoE-enabled network cable from your switch or injector into the input port of the splitter. Use the integrated DIP switch to select the appropriate output voltage (5V, 9V, or 12V) required by your target device. Connect the Ethernet cable to the data port of your non-PoE device and attach the appropriate power tip to the DC output cable to provide power. Ensure all connections are secure before powering on the network source.
Ensure the DIP switch is set to the correct voltage before connecting the power cable to your device to prevent potential damage. Keep the device in a well-ventilated area to maintain optimal operating temperatures.
