The LevelOne GEL-2691 is a Layer 3 managed switch offering 24 Gigabit copper ports, four shared Gigabit SFP slots and two optional 10-Gigabit slots (SFP/XFP). The unit is designed for 19-inch rack mounting and includes a connector for a redundant power supply, enabling flexible installation in workgroup and edge network environments.

Advantages

The GEL-2691 combines layer 3 routing capabilities with web-based management and SNMP support for both IPv4 and IPv6. It supports advanced features such as unicast and multicast routing (IGMP v1/v2/v3, MLD), VLANs and VLAN trunking, STP/RSTP/MSTP, ACLs for packet filtering, LACP link aggregation and IEEE 802.1p QoS with eight priority queues. These features make it suitable for expanding networks with a balance of performance and cost-efficiency.

Install the GEL-2691 into a 19-inch rack and connect the redundant power supply if required. Use the web-based interface or SNMP to configure network settings, enable IPv4/IPv6 operation, set up VLANs, routing protocols and DHCP relay as needed. Configure ACLs and IEEE 802.1X for port security, create LACP groups for link aggregation and apply QoS policies using 802.1p priorities or IP DSCP to manage traffic and bandwidth.
