Lightwin QSFP28 DAC cable 100 Gbit LWO-DAC-QSFP28-1M-HPE — QSFP28 to QSFP28, 1 m
Lightwin QSFP28 DAC cable 100 Gbit LWO-DAC-QSFP28-1M-HPE is a 1 m passive direct attach copper cable with QSFP28 plugs at both ends. It provides a 100 Gbit/s wired connection for short-reach links in data centers, server racks, and switch interconnects. The cable is designed for plug-and-play use with HP/Aruba SFP/XFP equipment and offers a low-latency, low-power option for high-density 100G connections.
The passive QSFP28 DAC design delivers high throughput and low latency without the need for optical transceivers, keeping power consumption and heat generation low. At 1 m length and with QSFP28-to-QSFP28 connectors, the cable supports direct switch-to-switch or server-to-switch links in top-of-rack and midplane deployments. Black outer jacket and compact form factor simplify cable management in dense rack environments while maintaining reliable electrical performance for short distances.
This passive DAC is intended for short-reach connections; it is not suitable for long-distance links or runs between remote racks where optical fiber is required. It also does not replace optical transceivers where extended reach, optical isolation, or fiber-based infrastructure is mandated.
Ensure both devices support QSFP28 100G direct-attach connections and are powered down if manufacturer guidelines recommend it for hot-plugging. Align the QSFP28 connector keyed position with the port, insert until the latch clicks, then repeat on the opposite end. Verify link status on connected switches or network interface cards; check for negotiated 100 Gbit/s rate. To remove, press the connector latch and withdraw straight out to avoid damaging ports.
Use the Lightwin QSFP28 DAC cable for short intra-rack or adjacent-rack 100G links where low latency and low power are priorities. Avoid sharp bends and excessive tension; follow vendor guidance for port insertion/removal and cable routing to preserve connector integrity and signal performance.
