Lindy LC/LC OM4 20m Fibre Optic Cable Multimode Duplex 50/125 µm

The Lindy LC/LC OM4 20m Fibre Optic Cable Multimode Duplex 50/125 µm is a high-performance solution designed for demanding telecommunications and high-speed data networking environments. Spanning twenty metres in length, this purple zip twin patch cable features LC connectors on both ends and utilizes advanced OM4 multimode technology. Built with a 50/125 µm core and cladding diameter, it delivers reliable bandwidth transmission with low signal loss to support growing network demands. Each individual cable is tested and supplied with an attenuation measurement protocol to ensure consistent operational reliability.

Advantages

This fibre optic cable utilizes OM4 multimode technology to provide dependable performance for high-bandwidth data transfers and telecommunication systems. The inclusion of ceramic LC connectors guarantees low signal loss and broad compatibility with standard optical networking equipment. Its halogen-free LS0H outer jacket enhances safety by reducing toxic emissions in case of fire, while the zip twin design improves handling and installation flexibility. Furthermore, optical fibre inherently provides total immunity to electrical and electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable signal integrity over the entire twenty-metre distance.

Suitable for

• Connecting network switches and routers in local area networks
• High-speed data center interconnections
• Telecommunication and enterprise infrastructure setups
• Long-distance rack-to-rack equipment linking

When it may not be suitable

This product may not be appropriate for environments requiring single-mode fibre installations, such as long-haul campus backbones spanning several kilometres. Additionally, the twenty-metre length is fixed, making it unsuitable for applications that require custom-cut or significantly shorter cable runs within cramped enclosures.

Key specifications

• Cable length: 20 m
• Fibre optic type: OM4 multimode
• Core and cladding diameter: 50/125 µm
• Connectors: LC to LC duplex
• Jacket material: Halogen-free LS0H
• Outer diameter: 3 mm
• Color: Purple

How to use

Before installation, inspect the LC connectors for any dust or debris and use appropriate optical cleaning tools if necessary. Carefully route the cable along designated pathways, avoiding sharp bends that exceed the minimum bend radius of the fibre. Align the LC connectors with the ports on your network equipment and gently push until a click confirms a secure connection. Repeat the process for the second connector in the duplex pair to complete the link.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that your network hardware uses LC duplex ports and supports OM4 multimode specifications
• Measure the physical distance between devices to ensure the twenty-metre length is adequate without leaving excessive slack
• Check local building regulations regarding the requirement for halogen-free LS0H cabling

For optimal network performance, always keep protective dust caps on the LC connectors until the moment of installation and avoid pinching or tightly binding the cable during routing.
