Network patch cable LOGON TCU55U050M Cat5e U/UTP RJ-45 to RJ-45, 5 m, magenta, gold-plated contacts
LOGON TCU55U050M is a 5 m Cat5e network patch cable with U/UTP (unshielded) construction and RJ-45 connectors on both ends. The cable uses four twisted pairs (4 x 2 AWG 26/7) with characteristic impedance of 100 ohm and gold-plated contacts on the plugs to improve corrosion resistance and reliable signal contact. The cable features molded boots with kink protection and strain relief for secure connector retention and a visible length mark on the boot for quick identification of run length. It is suitable for short links in home and office Ethernet networks, patch panels and switch-to-switch or switch-to-appliance connections where a compact Cat5e link is required.
The unshielded Cat5e construction provides a cost-effective balance of performance and flexibility for 100 Mbps and 1 Gbps Ethernet applications over short distances. Gold-plated RJ-45 contacts reduce oxidation and help maintain consistent electrical contact. Molded boots with strain relief protect the connector from bending stress and improve cable longevity in patching environments. The 5 m length offers easy routing in typical desk-to-switch or rack patch scenarios while the magenta jacket color simplifies cable identification in multi-cable installations.
Connect one RJ-45 plug to the network port of your device and the other RJ-45 plug to the switch, router or patch panel. Ensure connectors are fully inserted until the latch clicks to secure the connection. Route the cable to avoid sharp bends and pinch points; the molded boot and strain relief reduce stress at the connector but standard cable management practices should be followed. The cable is plug-and-play and requires no configuration.
For reliable performance, keep run lengths within Ethernet design limits and avoid running the cable in close parallel with high-voltage power lines to minimize potential interference. Use the magenta color to separate this link from others in patch bays or structured cabling, and replace the cable if connectors show visible wear or intermittent connectivity.
