Compulocks CL20T-xTrap cable lock Black, Silver
The Compulocks CL20T-xTrap cable lock in Black and Silver is a security accessory designed to protect notebooks, desktops, docking stations and flat panel monitors that feature a built-in security slot. Constructed from 100% stainless steel with a loop-ended galvanized steel cable that is thicker than many standard security cables, this lock provides a physical deterrent against theft and unauthorized removal. The compact locking head accepts a flat key and the cable can be routed and secured around fixed objects in offices, public spaces or while traveling.
Made from stainless steel with a thicker galvanized loop cable, the CL20T-xTrap emphasizes physical robustness and corrosion resistance for long-term use. The flat key locking mechanism offers straightforward operation and reduced bulk compared with larger combination locks. Its universal compatibility with devices that include a standard security slot makes it a flexible solution for protecting a variety of equipment. The cable’s length and looped end enable secure anchoring to desks, poles or other immovable fixtures.
Loop the cable around a fixed, immovable object and insert the lock head into the device’s security slot. Turn the flat key to engage the locking mechanism and remove the key to secure the device. To unlock, insert the key and rotate to release the mechanism, then remove the cable from the device and unloop it from the anchor point. Regularly check the cable and lock head for wear and ensure the anchor point remains secure.
For best results, choose a permanent fixture or heavy immovable object as the anchor point and avoid thin or easily removed structures. Keep spare keys in a secure location; consider labeling key sets to match devices in multi-device environments. Inspect the cable periodically for signs of corrosion or fraying, especially after exposure to moisture or frequent travel.
