MaxLink QSFP+ Direct Attach Copper (DAC) Cable 40G, 1m
The MaxLink 40G QSFP+ DAC cable, 1m is a high-quality passive twinax direct attach copper cable designed for short-range 40Gb/s connections between QSFP+ ports. It provides a plug-and-play electrical connection that the connected device recognises in the same way as a QSFP+ module, and it is broadly compatible with Cisco-compatible equipment and other vendors that accept standard QSFP+ DACs.
This 1 metre passive DAC offers low latency and predictable performance for short interconnects while eliminating the need for separate transceivers and fiber patching. As a direct-attach twinax cable, it is energy-efficient and typically more cost-effective for short-distance links compared with optical modules and fiber. Compatibility with Cisco-style QSFP+ ports simplifies deployment in mixed-vendor environments that support standard DAC behavior.
This passive DAC is intended for short-reach connections inside racks or between adjacent racks; it is not suitable for longer-distance links or where optical fibre is required. It also relies on host equipment that accepts passive QSFP+ twinax cables; some devices enforce vendor-specific checks and may refuse third-party DACs.
Insert each QSFP+ connector into the corresponding QSFP+ port on the two devices until it latches. Ensure both devices are powered and configured for a 40Gb/s interface. No additional transceivers or fibre patch cables are required; the link should be detected automatically if the host equipment accepts the DAC.
Use this 40G QSFP+ DAC for short, high-bandwidth connections inside racks or between adjacent racks; avoid bending the twinax cable sharply, and keep the connectors clean to ensure a reliable electrical connection.
