SFP optical module MaxLink ML-S5531out-3 WDM Tx1550nm Rx1310nm 3km
SFP optical module MaxLink ML-S5531out-3 is a compact WDM transceiver that transmits at 1550 nm and receives at 1310 nm, designed for single-fibre links up to 3 km. The module is hot-pluggable and fits standard SFP ports on switches, media converters and other network equipment. It enables single-fibre bi-directional connections for Ethernet and fiber networks, allowing fiber extension and network segmentation without running a second fibre.
The MaxLink ML-S5531out-3 offers a small form factor SFP design with WDM capability to carry transmit and receive signals on a single fibre, reducing cabling needs and simplifying installation. Hot-pluggable compatibility supports in-field insertion and replacement without powering down equipment. Its operation at 1550 nm (Tx) and 1310 nm (Rx) supports common single-mode fiber links and provides a straightforward solution for extending links up to 3 km.
Insert the ML-S5531out-3 module into a compatible SFP port on a switch, media converter or other network device while the device is powered on or off as supported by the host. Connect the single-mode fiber using appropriate connectors and ensure the remote end uses the complementary WDM module (with Tx/Rx wavelengths reversed). Configure the host port for the desired network speed and duplex settings if required by the equipment, then verify link status and diagnostics through the host device management interface.
Use low-loss single-mode fiber with proper connector cleanliness and appropriate optical attenuators if the host devices require power margin adjustments. Verify compatibility with the host device's SFP support list and follow standard ESD precautions during installation.
