SFP+ Optical Module MaxLink ML-S+85D-03 850 nm multimode, 300 m reach
SFP+ Optical Module MaxLink ML-S+85D-03 850 nm multimode, 300 m reach
SFP+ Optical Module MaxLink ML-S+85D-03 850 nm multimode, 300 m reach is a hot-pluggable transceiver designed for 10 Gbps SFP+ ports. It operates at an 850 nm wavelength and is optimized for short-range multimode fiber links up to 300 meters. The compact form factor and standard SFP+ interface allow straightforward insertion into switches, servers and media converters to establish high-speed connections in data center uplinks, server racks and campus network segments.
The module provides reliable 10 Gbps connectivity over multimode fiber with low power consumption and a compact, hot-pluggable SFP+ form factor. Compatibility with standard SFP+ slots simplifies installation and replacement, while the 850 nm wavelength and multimode design deliver cost-effective short-range links. The device supports typical operating conditions for rack-mounted and cabinet equipment and is suitable for mixed-vendor environments where standard SFP+ optics are required.
Insert the SFP+ Optical Module into an available SFP+ port on the switch, server or media converter while the host device is powered according to the host manual’s hot-plug guidance. Connect a compatible LC-duplex multimode fiber patch cable to the module, ensuring correct transmit/receive orientation. Verify link status on the host device and configure port speed and duplex settings if required by the network equipment. Replace or remove the module by following the equipment manufacturer’s instructions to avoid damage.
Use high-quality OM3/OM4 multimode fiber for best performance at the full 300 m reach and ensure fiber connectors are clean before insertion. Match the module’s SFP+ interface with the host device’s supported optics list when possible to ensure compatibility. Avoid exceeding the specified operating temperature and follow electrostatic discharge (ESD) precautions during handling and installation.
