Mercodan Patch Cable Cat6 U/UTP CCA LSZH Halogen-Free Red 2.0 m

The Mercodan Patch Cable Cat6 U/UTP CCA LSZH Halogen-Free Red 2.0 m is a standard network cable designed to establish stable connections within local area networks. Measuring 2.0 meters in length, this red patch cable features a round profile and is equipped with CCA conductors and a 2x4xAWG24 wire gauge. The integration of a halogen-free LSZH jacket ensures that the cable releases minimal smoke and no toxic halogens when exposed to high heat, contributing to enhanced safety in indoor installations.

Advantages

This Cat6 network cable provides reliable data transmission for everyday networking needs in residential and office environments. The halogen-free LSZH outer sheath adds a layer of safety for enclosed spaces by reducing the risk of hazardous fumes during a fire. Its 2.0-meter length offers practical reach between devices without excessive cable slack, while the bright red color allows for straightforward visual identification and cable management within patch panels or switch setups.

Suitable for

• Connecting desktop computers and laptops to network switches or wall outlets
• Linking network routers and modems in small office and home setups
• Organizing local area network connections using color-coded routing

When it may not be suitable

This cable is not recommended for high-power Power over Ethernet applications or industrial environments that require solid copper wiring due to the limitations of CCA conductors. It may also fall short in high-density data center deployments where specialized shielding or extreme bend radii are mandatory.

Key specifications

• Cable category: Cat6
• Shielding type: U/UTP
• Conductor material: CCA
• Jacket material: LSZH halogen-free
• Length: 2.0 meters
• Color: Red
• Wire gauge: 2x4xAWG24

How to use

Insert the RJ45 connector on either end of the patch cable into the network port of your device, such as a computer, router, or switch, until a secure click is heard. Ensure the cable is routed safely along walls, desks, or through cable management channels to avoid sharp bends, excessive tension, or pinching that could damage the internal conductors over time.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that the 2.0-meter length is sufficient for the distance between your networked devices
• Confirm that your equipment supports standard RJ45 Cat6 connections
• Check whether local safety regulations require LSZH halogen-free cables for your installation site

For optimal network performance and longevity, avoid tightly coiling the cable or running it alongside high-voltage electrical lines to minimize potential signal interference.
