Power over Ethernet Injector Microsemi PD-3501G/AC
Power over Ethernet Injector Microsemi PD-3501G/AC
The Microsemi PD-3501G/AC is a compact Gigabit Power over Ethernet (PoE) injector designed to deliver 48 V DC power and data over a single Ethernet cable. It supports 10/100/1000 Mbit/s data rates and is fully compliant with IEEE 802.3af standards, enabling power delivery to PoE-enabled devices without altering existing network infrastructure. The unit is lightweight and compact (51.8 x 160.5 x 34.8 mm, 200 g) for straightforward installation in confined spaces and carries safety and regulatory certifications including UL/EN/IEC 60950-1, CE and FCC, with compliance to WEEE disposal requirements.
The PD-3501G/AC provides simple plug-and-play operation that allows the addition of power to a network link without requiring changes to switches or cabling. Its Gigabit data support preserves full network performance for IP phones, wireless access points, network cameras and other PoE terminals. The compact grey enclosure and low weight make it easy to mount or position near powered devices, while the unit’s regulatory certifications ensure safe and reliable operation in standard IT environments.
Install the PD-3501G/AC by connecting the injector’s Ethernet input to an upstream non-PoE switch or router and the output RJ-45 port to the PoE-enabled device using standard Cat5e/Cat6 cabling. Plug the AC adapter into a nearby mains outlet and power on the injector; the device provides power automatically to IEEE 802.3af-compatible endpoints, while transparent forwarding maintains Gigabit network throughput. No special configuration is required for most deployments—simply verify link LEDs and device power status after connection.
For reliable operation, use certified Cat5e or higher Ethernet cables and keep cable runs within standard Ethernet distance limits (100 m) between the injector and the powered device. Verify that the powered device is IEEE 802.3af compatible and that its power class and consumption do not exceed the injector’s capacity. Place the injector in a ventilated location away from heat sources and moisture, and follow local disposal regulations for electronic equipment.
