Managed Switch Mikrotik CRS326-24G-2S+RM L2 Gigabit Ethernet 24 Ports
The Mikrotik CRS326-24G-2S+RM is a managed Layer 2 switch with 24 Gigabit Ethernet ports and two SFP+ uplink ports. It supports IEEE 802.1Q VLAN tagging and offers wire-speed connectivity across all Gigabit ports. The device includes a dual-boot option allowing selection between SwOS — a streamlined switch-focused system — and RouterOS — a feature-rich OS with routing and Layer 3 capabilities. The SFP cage accepts both 1.25 Gb SFP and 10 Gb SFP+ modules, providing flexibility for higher-speed uplinks and aggregation.
The switch combines full Gigabit RJ-45 connectivity with two 10G-capable SFP+ ports for uplink or stacking scenarios, enabling scalable network topologies. Managed functionality lets administrators configure VLANs, apply MAC filtering, mirror traffic for monitoring, and set bandwidth limits per port. Dual-boot support gives a choice between a simplified switch operating system and a router-capable OS, so the same hardware can serve pure switching or mixed switching/routing roles. A compact rack-mountable grey chassis provides standard installation options in data closets and server racks.
Install the CRS326-24G-2S+RM in a standard 19-inch rack using the supplied brackets or place it on a shelf. Connect network devices to the Gigabit RJ-45 ports and insert SFP/SFP+ modules in the SFP+ cages for uplinks or higher-speed links. Power on the device and choose the desired operating system using the RouterBOOT menu or from within RouterOS/SwOS. Configure basic settings such as management IP, VLANs, and port-based rules through SwOS web interface or using Winbox/CLI when running RouterOS. Apply MAC filters, mirror ports for traffic analysis, and set per-port bandwidth limits as required for your network policy.
For pure switching deployments where simplicity and easy port management are priorities, run SwOS. If you require routing, policy-based routing, or advanced firewall and tunneling features on some ports, use RouterOS. Use quality SFP/SFP+ modules rated for your required link speed and ensure proper cooling in rack installations. Regularly back up your configuration whenever switching operating systems or performing firmware updates.
