hEX S is a compact five‑port Gigabit Ethernet router designed for sites where wireless connectivity is not needed. It provides an SFP port and Power over Ethernet (PoE) output on the fifth Ethernet port, offering flexible wired connectivity options. The router runs RouterOS and combines a small form factor with a dual‑core 880 MHz CPU and 256 MB RAM to support advanced configurations and services.

How to use

Install the hEX S in a suitable location with ventilation and connect the incoming network link to one of the Gigabit ports or the SFP cage for fiber. Connect LAN devices to the remaining Ethernet ports; port 5 can provide PoE to a compatible device. Use the USB or microSD slot for additional storage or to host RouterOS services such as The Dude. Configure RouterOS via Winbox, WebFig or command line to set firewall rules, NAT, VPN (including IPsec with hardware acceleration) and routing as required.

Recommendations
