Spade (pointed) MODECO MN-79-365 – steel blade, wooden handle, garden digging tool
Spade (pointed) MODECO MN-79-365 is a garden digging tool with a pointed steel blade and a wooden handle designed for efficient soil penetration, cutting roots and transplanting. The pointed tip facilitates work in compacted or mixed soils while the steel blade provides edge durability for repeated digging and trenching tasks. The wooden handle gives a secure grip and control during turning, planting and small landscaping operations.
The pointed steel blade improves penetration into hard or stony ground and enables cleaner root cutting compared with flat-bladed variants. The steel construction ensures resistance to bending and wear during regular use, while a well-shaped wooden handle reduces vibration transfer and supports two-handed control. The overall tool design balances strength and handling for garden digging, trenching and transplanting jobs.
Place the pointed blade at the desired digging location and use the foot to push the blade into the soil for efficient penetration. Apply steady downward force and use the handle with both hands to control depth and direction. For root cutting, insert the point beside the root and lever the blade to sever and lift roots. When transplanting, dig a hole sized to the root ball, loosen surrounding soil and transfer the plant, then backfill and press the soil gently around the roots.
Regularly inspect the wooden handle for cracks and treat with linseed oil or a suitable wood preservative to extend service life. Clean and dry the steel blade after use and store the spade in a dry place to reduce corrosion. Use appropriate personal protective equipment such as gloves and sturdy footwear when digging and handling roots.
