Welding electrode MODECO MN-97-922 4 mm rutile-cellulose, 5 kg
Welding electrode MODECO MN-97-922 4 mm rutile-cellulose, 5 kg
MODECO MN-97-922 rutile-cellulose welding electrodes, 4 mm diameter packed as a 5 kg bundle, are intended for manual metal arc (MMA) welding of steels. The rutile-cellulose coating balances easy arc striking and re-striking with good slag detachability and produces welds with smooth appearance. These electrodes are suitable for general-purpose welding, maintenance and repair operations, and fabrication tasks where a versatile coated electrode is required. They can be used with DC and AC welding sets when applied according to standard welding practice and the equipment manufacturer's recommendations.
The rutile-cellulose coating of the MODECO MN-97-922 provides stable arc characteristics and reliable strike behavior while reducing spatter and promoting easy slag removal. Their 4 mm diameter offers a compromise between deposition rate and accessibility into joints. Supplied in a 5 kg bundle, the electrodes are convenient for workshop and site use and compatible with common MMA welding power sources on both DC and AC.
Select an appropriate current setting for a 4 mm rutile-cellulose electrode following the welding power source manufacturer's recommendations. Prepare joint edges and remove heavy rust, oil or paint from the weld zone. Strike the arc with a stable electrode angle and maintain a consistent travel speed to achieve uniform bead formation. Allow slag to cool slightly before chip-off to reveal the finished weld. Ensure that operators follow standard welding technique for rutile-cellulose electrodes to obtain sound fusion and acceptable bead appearance.
Store electrodes in a dry place and protect them from moisture to preserve coating integrity. If electrodes have been exposed to damp conditions, follow manufacturer guidance for drying before use. Always use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure adequate ventilation when welding.
